Description
Primda castle - the one from the oldest stone castles in Czech republic. The first mention of Primda castle dates from the year 1121.
The ruins of the castle Primda stands at the southern end of the rocky ridge above the village on Tachovsku in the Region. Primda is considered to be the oldest surviving stone castle in Bohemia and is protected as a national monument. The castle has been preserved ruins of a massive rectangular Romanesque residential tower, which was built of quarried stone. Also there are remains of a cylindrical tower from the late 15th century.
